My skin is on the sensitive side, so thats where I like to put my prep in and make sure it looks bomb. On a daily basis, I mist my face with this Hello FAB Vital Greens Face Mist and conceal any blemishes with Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. That’s IT. When I go out, I’ll prep with those two, then add the Oil-Free Laura Mercia Tinted Moisturizer, Too Faced Matte Bronzer, and the Becca Shimmering Highlighter. Keep on reading to see what the rest of my regime is + how to get your glow on.
HYDRATE + NOURISH
The biggest personal switch that I’ve ever made which dramatically changed my skin for life was cutting soda and drinking MORE water. I do drink alcohol, juice, soda once in awhile but not on a daily basis. Probably 1-5 times per month depending on what social activities are happening. I can’t stress enough how much drinking water is beneficial to great skin and overall health. When I decrease my sugar and dairy intake, my skin looks soooo much better and the more water I drink, the healthier it is. Water benefits your health overall, too. Just sayin!
PREP + COVER
For me, too many products and cream for my skin since makes it so crazy since it’s pretty sensitive and breaks out rather easily. Instead of prepping my skin with a cream, I love using facial mists to prep my skin. They are super refreshing and I love the natural dewy look it gives to my skin. Then I use a buildable coverage tinted moisturizer with a beauty blender. I don’t like heavy coverage or thick foundation, which is why i opt for tinted BB, CC or moisturizers, especially ones with SPF. It’s super important to have sunscreen on your face! I dab spots where I want the coverage and then blend it out. Bonus points if you’re using natural products, your skin will love you that much more. If I want that extra coverage, I’ll add some concealer like I mentioned above.
FINISH WITH A LITTLE OOMPH!
If I’m going out or trying to look extra pretty (ha!) then I’ll go the extra finishing mile. I use Too Faced matte bronzer to contour and add some color to my cheeks. I always use matte because it just appears more natural to me. I don’t usually wear blush because my skin flushes rather easily. Then I’ll use my Becca highlighter– HANDS DOWN THE BEST EVER — and sweep it over my cheekbones, nose, chin and forehead. Then I’ll take a brush and dust on my top lip and underneath my eyebrows. Then I’ll come back around with my facial mist to set everything. It’s the glowiest thing, EVER.
All in all, I know that good skin starts from within. Our skin is an organ guys and we need to take care of it. I suck at putting on lotion and just started being religious about it to make my skin happier. I drink a ton of water and am pretty selective about my makeup, how much I wear it, and how my skin feels. Crazy effects of growing up, right!? I used to not care AT ALL.
