When I think of the 90’s, I think of short shorts, high waisted goodness, cut-off tees and sweatshirts and BIG. ASS. HAIR. My mom’s and dad’s hairstyles in the nineties were reminiscent of Farrah Fawcet and often included round brushing up to Heaven + tons of layers.
My hair is naturally wavy AF, bordering on curly and there is definitely frizz involved. Sometimes–SOMETIMES– it air dries really pretty and today it seemed to be diggin’ the humidity or summer air or something. Who knows!? I also just acquired that pink sweater with button details from free people ON SALE. It was $30 with an additional 25% off, so booyah. SCORE. The white shorts are American Eagle and I love the voluminous top with the itty bitty shorts.

I’ve been really obsessing over orange lately– if you saw on Instagram I’ve been sporting my new lip color via Kylie Cosmetics (totally caved and it was worth it.) I got the In Love With The Koko set and am really in love with the shades and the payoff of color and longevity. To be honest, I thought her products wouldn’t really have great payoff but there has to be a reason why they ALL keep selling out. Longest lasting liquid lipstick I’ve EVER used and i love the shades.
Anyways– there’s a bright orange shade in there that doesn’t make my teeth look yellow (YAY) and I’ve been sporting it around with my lighter hair. The combo = looking tan AF and I love the play on contrast. I also bought an orange dress from Target this weekend– HUGE DEAL because I love neutrals. Something about Summer makes me feel a little more daring fashion-wise.
One thing I do love to see is bold colors being mixed around as it heats up. Orange pairs really well with EMERALD GREEN and a DEEP BLUE. As I was pulling this WIN together I thought, “Why the hell not mix them ALL together?” With the earrings, dress and shoes, you pretty much can’t go wrong and will look like a Summer babe rocking the hues down the street. I’m super in love. If it gets chilly, throw a trusty denim jacket on and you are set.
P.S. Don’t forget the sunscreen! You don’t want a red hue to counteract with the shade of the dress 😉 I love the oil-free Clinique version for my face and usually use a high SPF spray for my skin. Your face is super important though, so if you are using makeup be sure to use this first or a BB/CC cream with SPF.
Have a great week ya’ll! Xo, S.
If you’re on social media, odds are you’ve definitely seen all of the basket bags poppin’ up on every blogger’s feed from Etsy faves to the Cult Gaia bag in black and tan.
Ok I’m really obsessed with it, SORRY. Because this trend is pretty much feeding my inner beach boho and my body is like YAS bring it on for summertime! Instead of just limiting it to the bags I’ve been seeing, I think this trend should be taken to the next level with ottomans, baskets, bracelets and yep, HATS.
I rounded up a few faves and have linked some inspo images below. Have a great week friends! Xo, S.
